Alice in wonderland

Under the direction of Julie Williams and Charlie Woods, Alice in Wonderland, became quite a show in Taylor PlayMaker history by going on to win: Best Costume Design, Best Stage Management and runner up for Best Scenic Design at the 2012 International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Our design concept centered around Alice’s fall into the book; inspired by John Tenniell’s original wood carvings used to illustrate Lewis Caroll’s novel. To convey this “sketched” feel, scenic designer, Grace Guarniere and I hand painted all of the costumes and set pieces.

honk jr.

A Christian Youth Theatre of Lafayette production, directed by Kristi Perry, Honk Jr. opened in the winter of 2013 with over 50 children between the ages of eight and eighteen. Inspired by the nineteen fities musical score, my design concept envisioned these animal-characters coming to life in varies styles of nineteen fifties fashion. The swans were socialites, the cat a greaser girl, mama duck and the hens were housewives and the duckings were preppy teenagers in poodle skirts or shorts and bowties.
